I enjoy participating in Strategic Planning meetings where boards of directors play the game of "Future Trends". Usually there are bright future scenarios and dark future scenarios. I love transforming them into movie posters so that they can use them to present their point of view and help them to be inspired for their decision making.
Usually I collaborate with consultants and together we facilitate the session of collective intelligence about future trends. Then they imagine the possible future scenarios for the world, their industry, their business and we come up with an analogy of a movie poster that would help them describe that possible future. I take notes, I validate some sketches with them in real time, and 24 hours later I have a few posters they can use to inspire their teams about their strategy. It is fascinating!
